For Undergraduates
The Curriculum for the Environment and Ecology administers two environmental majors available to undergraduates at UNC-Chapel Hill: the Bachelors of Arts in environmental studies and the Bachelors of Science in environmental sciences. Currently, the CEE offers two minors: Sustainability and Environmental Science and Studies. For more information on degrees, click here.
The CEE offers many environmental courses each semester taught by faculty from across campus. For a list of courses, click here.
The CEE works closely with the UNC-Chapel Hill Institute for the Environment (IE) to bring unique out-of-classroom experiences to environmental undergraduates. The IE offers field site study opportunities, where students travel to study at sites across the state and world; internship placements with businesses, government agencies and non-profits; and additional research and academic opportunities. Information on these additional opportunities, as well as awards and scholarships for environmental students, can be found here. The IE also sponsors honors Capstone projects for environmental students.
